Terrasse

Introduction
Terrasse is a Federation-style home framed with abundant landscaping and privately located within a natural forest setting. Engaged to masterplan and manage an extensive refresh of the 30-year-old property, Cadence & Co oversaw all architectural and interior design aspects of this carefully considered upgrade.
Sensitive adjustments to the interior layout enable our clients to enjoy the benefits of contemporary living, while much of the original design, including the generously proportioned formal living and dining rooms, were retained. We extensively refreshed the interiors, in collaboration with Kate Nixon, to bring a textural luxury to the spaces that referenced the clients’ South African heritage.
Working collaboratively with established partners, including specialist landscape architects and designers, our team revitalised the grounds to reflect the home’s sense of place within its bushland context. Previously underutilised terraces were redefined as destination outdoor living spaces, designed with lingering time and slow enjoyment of place in mind.
To ensure the house would endure for future generations we health-checked and refreshed the brickwork, stonework, roofing, shingles and custom timber framework.
