Founded by Artistic Director & Cellist James Beck, Sydney Art Quartet is a virtuosic quartet that playfully sidestep routine, cliche and orthodoxy. Since 2015 the group has created and produced over 100 performances with some of this country’s most exciting creatives.
Continuing our long-time enjoyment of the Sydney Art Quartet’s performances, Cadence & Co is excited to become an official partner of their inspiring events.
The latest collaboration between the Sydney Art Quartet and the Oxley9 Gallery in Paddington featured Bill Henson, one of Australia’s most compelling artists. The Art Quartet performed Chiaroscuro – an evocative, dreamlike response to Henson’s latest work at the Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery in Paddington last week.
The collaboration was the latest offering from the Sydney Art Quartet, who have distinguished themselves in the Australian arts scene for their multi-art, multi-sensory approach. Attracting an audience described as “the envy of the arts scene”, previous Sydney Art Quartet projects have included collaborations with actor David Wenham, floral curator Saskia Havekes, fragrance designer Carlos Huber and Archibald Award-winning painter Wendy Sharpe.
The next performance from the Sydney Art Quartet, is Life Tales, a collaboration with Taryn Fiebig – a cellist, actress, dancer and a Helpman award-winning soprano. The event will be held at the Olsen Gallery, Woollahra, on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2019.
